For fifteen years, TomoeArts was a thriving creative community, curated and led by Artistic Director Colleen Lanki. This community brought together classical masterworks and avant-garde contemporary experiments inspired by Japanese dance and theatre traditions. Hundreds of individuals contributed to this creative and educational hub as part of the Tomoe family.

TomoeArts closed at the end of 2024, but its work continues in many ways.
Official records of its past activities are being transferred to the Nikkei National Museum archive and a selection of its work will continue to be publicly available on the society’s YouTube page.
Ongoing Nihon Buyō classes continue as TomoeKai Dance under the direction of HANAYAGI Toshikotono (Mamie Kakimoto).
